Coriander
Coriander seeds are the dried berries of the coriander plant (sometimes called Cilantro or Dhanya), but have little similarity in taste to the fresh herb. Crushed whole coriander seeds are delicious for flavouring homemade burgers. To bring out the fragrance in coriander, toast the seeds. Put them in a dry heavy skillet and set over medium heat for a few minutes until they become fragrant.

Garlic Granules
We love using these granules to turn French or sourdough bread into garlic bread. Cut down to the bottom crust of the loaf in thick slices. Use soft butter to butter the slices generously. Sprinkle with garlic granules. Wrap in foil. Heat through in a medium oven.


You can also mix garlic granules into the soft butter before spreading onto fresh-out-of-the-oven bread rolls. You could even add a sprinkling of dried oreganum or rosemary into the mix. Braais will never be the same!
